Club Eden is Geographer’s music program. Seeing the dance floor as a revolutionary space, we curate seasonal mix series, asking the underground’s best selectors to remind us that Heaven is Earth. Its debut mix series, 1992, takes its title from M.I.A.’s XR2: “Where were you in ’92?” The four-mix series transports rave culture into the global political arena, where its subversive energy is needed to confront the climate crisis. In 1992, world leaders met in Rio for the Earth Summit and pledged to protect the planet for present and future generations. Three decades later, as world leaders gather for COP30 in Belém, those promises remain unkept. Club Eden: 1992 invites four young Brazilian selectors — Cashu, Lyzza, RHR, and Slim Soledad — to reflect on the broken world they have inherited, channeling the cultural and ecological diversity of Brazil to demand a better future.
